One of the region’s most popular winter sporting events, the Harris Hill Ski Jump Competition, has been a celebrated local tradition since 1922. The two-day tournament drawing world-class ski jumpers from across the globe is held in nearby Brattleboro, Vermont. Thousands of spectators turn out to watch local talent and world renown ski jumpers alike. 2011’s Harris Hill Ski Jump Competition will take place Saturday, February 19th and Sunday, February 20th.
This local landmark is 700 feet high and the only 90 meter jump in New England. Harris Hill is one of six ski jumps of its caliber in the U.S. and over the years has been the site of 18 national and regional championships. The most recent was in 1992 when Brattleboro hosted the National Championships. The event is organized entirely by volunteers and funded by local businesses and event supporters committed to this exhilarating sport. It’s a great family and/or socializing event with a children’s hill, concessions, a beer tent, and event souvenirs.
Our quiet country inn is a short drive to the Brattleboro event and with our winter rates there’s no reason not to come on out and enjoy the fun! We’ll even throw in 2-for-1 ski passes good for Granite Gorge Ski area to double the fun. Book now for best availability!
