What better way to jump start your holiday shopping than supporting the wonderful collection of talented artists here in Walpole, NH and nearby Putney, VT. The 8th Annual Walpole Artisan Tour and the 32nd Annual Putney Crafts Tours are held simultaneously the Friday, Saturday and Sunday following Thanksgiving. These open studio tours present an amazing opportunity to see a wide variety of incredible artists’ work first hand. Many of the artists on both tours will be demonstrating their handicrafts during the tour and offering one-of-a-kind treasures sure to please a great number of people on your holiday list in a variety of price ranges. Participating artists will be representing everything from paintings, photography, sculptures in various mediums, pottery, blown glass, fabrics textile art, handmade cards and invitations, jewelry and more! There is no cost to visit any of the participating artists and both are self-guided tours done at your own pace. You can visit as many or as few as you like.
Maps for both tours are available throughout the region and of course available here at the Inn at Valley Farms. All of these bucolic towns have so much more to offer. There are cheese makers, an independently owned bookstore, some of the world’s finest handmade chocolate, fine dining, a winery, orchards and several specialty shops. With so much to see why not consider spending the weekend slowly meandering the back roads of these picturesque villages – a gift in and of itself! Mention this post and receive 10% off a 1-night stay or 20% off a 2-night stay this weekend only.
If you can’t manage to visit them all this year, mark it on your calendars now for next year, as it’s surely an annual local tradition not to be missed!
The Walpole tour starts at the Walpole Artisans Cooperative, 52 Main Street across from Burdicks Choclate to pick up a tour map or enter the raffle for two $25 gift certificates.
